Grevillea bipinnatifida x Grevillea banksii Alba ‘Superb’
APPEARANCE: Vibrant orange-apricot flowers throughout most the year, flowering more heavily in late winter and spring. Dense ferny foliage. Very similar to Robyn Gordon which has redder flowers to Superb’s peach-orange.
ORIGIN :G bipinnatifida is found in a range of habitats in the south west of WA. It is the parent species to many popular grevilleas including Coconut Ice, Robyn Gordon, Autumn Waterfall
USE FOR: Grevilleas are loved by honey eaters, flocking to feed on the flowers at dusk and dawn. Ideal for use as a screening or feature plant.
CLIMATE: This grevillea will grow in most areas of Australia, except for the tropics and areas with hard or prolonged frosts. Requires little water once established.
PLANTING: Well drained clay loams or sandy soil with a neutral to acid pH. Prefers full sun to part shade.
CARE: Water during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Light pruning after flowering will promote flowering and dense growth. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form – grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1-2m around
