Grevillea pteridifolia x banksii ‘Honey Gem’

APPEARANCE : Fast growing, tall, dense, native tree with large finely divided silvery-green foliage. Long-lasting very large golden orange-yellow flowers.
ORIGIN :Grevillea pteridifolia (manbulu, yawuny, tjummula) is unusually native to Northern Australia, from the Kimberleys of WA across NT to outback QLD. Unlike most grevilleas it prefers a ‘reverse’ climate of hot wet summers and dry winters. It is the parent of Sandra Gordon, which has smaller, denser, brighter yellow flowers.
USE FOR : This free standing specimen is great for avenue plantings and as a feature tree. It is honey laden and great for attracting native birds. Foliage is attractive all year round.
CLIMATE : Suitable for reasonably cold temperatures, light overnight frosts, and happy in sub tropical and tropical climates. Doesn’t mind occasional dry spells.
PLANTING : Likes full sun and semi-shade. Well drained clay loams or sandy soil with a neutral to acid pH.
CARE : Fertilise with native fertiliser early spring and at planting. Cut back to such as required but not too much.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 4 – 5m H x 2 – 3m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
