Grevillea juniperina x victoriae ‘Canterbury Gold’™
APPEARANCE : Dense, spreading shrub with small soft grey-green leaves and butter-yellow spider flowers throughout the year. Resilient and easy to maintain.
ORIGIN :G juniperina is found in ACT, coastal southern QLD and NSW, and is the parent of many popular grevilleas including New Blood
USE FOR : Wildlife gardens to attract nectar-feeding birds; in native gardens, as a feature shrub in mixed borders.
CLIMATE: Frost hardy, tolerates salt spray, dry periods and some humidity.
PLANTING : Grows in a well drained sandy or clay soil, with a neutral to acid pH, in shade or sun.
CARE : Water during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Light pruning after flowering will promote dense growth. Otherwise a very low-maintenance variety needing little attention. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form – grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
