Correa alba – white correa

APPEARANCE : Native flowering shrub with small oval slightly grey-green felty leaves; small starry white flowers from autumn to spring. In the wild it grows on sea cliffs and sand dunes.
USES:  Informal hedge or shrub for native, wildlife and cottage gardens.
PLANTING: Plant in free draining soil in a sunny or partly shaded location, dappled sunlight is perfect. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes. Tolerates light frost and some drought once established, and salt spray.
CARE: A light trim once flowering has finished will help give the plant shape and encourage bushiness. Can be clipped to very tidy mounds though you may lose some flowers. Follow with an application of a native slow release fertiliser.
