Austromyrtus dulcis ‘Blush’ – midgem berry, midgin berry, midyim berry

APPEARANCE: Compact-growing small-leaved native bushtucker bush. Flowers with small pink blossoms, rather than the usual white, followed by sweet-edible white fruit in spring and summer. New foliage is maroon.
USE IN: Low hedging and borders; native gardens, coastal gardens, wildlife gardens; bushtucker.
PLANTING: Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in free-draining soil in the garden. Occurs naturally on sandy soil but pretty adaptable wherever you plant it. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks, and in the autumn when berries are ripening. Tolerates dry conditions, humidity, and light frost once established.
CARE: Prune after fruit has finished to encourage dense growth habit and a bumper crop of berries next season. Apply a native slow release fertiliser during spring.
